Dear All,
As part of the documentation strategy to amplify gender conversations in the WASH sector, SuSanA Africa intends to produce another video documentary that will involve collecting of WASH stories from men in leadership; sanitation engineers, data analysts, water quality specialists, policy, financial etc. in a bid to promote and embrace gender in the sector. The development of this documentary is aimed to support and strengthen gender inclusion in the WASH sector in African countries by offering outreach channels, visibility and providing a platform for exchange and networking.
Expected objectives from the documentary
The video should be between 3-5minutes and each question answered within 45-60 seconds.
Below are the questions participants should address:

- How and why did you decide to work in a water utility?
- What are the most prominent challenges and successes?
- Are there women in the leadership team and how is it working with them?
- Advice to other women who want to be in leadership in water utilities.
- How do you feel about mentoring other women for similar or better roles?
Specifications on shooting the videos
- While shooting the video interview using a smartphone please ensure that the framing is on landscape mode.
- Switch device into plane mode or do not disturb mode to avoid any interruptions while shooting.
- Ensure that the subject is not seated or standing close to the window to avoid light reflections or shadow effects.
- Try as much as possible to ensure that the camera is not far from the interviewee and avoid zooming in or out while shooting.

We have the first video in from Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Company Ltd in Zambia!
The aim is to have atleast 10 videos from all African regions, in French and/or English, in an effort to great a knowledge packed documentary,

The chapter is aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing between and within African sanitation actors and the international SuSanA platform. One of the chapter results is to drive development debates and actions that prioritise gender, youth, equality and inclusion in the WASH sector. As part of the documentation strategy to amplify women voices, SuSanA Africa intends to produce a 5 - 10 minutes of 5 series video documentary that will involve collecting of WASH stories from women in leadership; sanitation engineers, data analysts, water quality specialists, policy, finance etc. in a bid to promote and embrace women in the sector.
The videos are to be documented in atleast 10 different countries, 5 regions in Africa with focus on women working in the water utilities. The development of this documentary is to support and strengthen women in the WASH sector in African countries by offering outreach channels, visibility and providing a platform for exchange and networking.
