Re: SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA launched in March 2017 - now called WANA Regional Chapter
This video here is a recording of a presentation by Lara Nassar about the WANA Chapter which she made at the recent SuSanA meeting in Stockholm on 25 August:
It is the first 13 minutes of the video and includes a question by Kitch Bawa at the end.
(the camera work is really good - this is the same footage which the people watching the livestream saw)

P.S. Please see here for the minutes from the WANA Chapter meeting at Stockholm on 26 August: forum.susana.org/events-at-world-water-w...18-at-11-30-am#26032

Re: SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA launched launched in March 2017 - now called WANA Regional Chapter
Hi,
Just letting you all know that the SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA has had a name change and is now called WANA Chapter
See here: www.susana.org/en/knowledge-hub/regional-chapters/wana-chapter
WANA stands for West Asia and North Africa. Everything else stays the same, it is just a name change from MENA to WANA (more information on why is also available in this thread: forum.susana.org/events-at-world-water-w...aug-2018-at-11-30-am )
If you haven't done so yet, you can register for the WANA chapter mailing list here if you have an interest in those countries: www.susana.org/en/mailinglist-mena-chapter
The Chapter is currently focusing on Arabic speaking countries in West Asia and North Africa.
The coordinator for this chapter is Ms Lara Nassar from BORDA: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Regards,
Elisabeth

The SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA has been launched at the session “first day of the Arab Water Week (AWW)” taking place at the Dead Sea, Jordan from 19-23 March 2017. The session was hosted by the SuSanA Partners ACWUA, GIZ and SDC.
Next to available resources and engagement opportunities, contributions to the Regional Chapter MENA from SuSanA partners cewas/ seecon, eawag and BORDA have been presented. The session closed with a vivid discussion between Mufleh Alalaween Al Abbadi (SDC), Dr. Almoayied Assayed (Royal Scientific Society), Eng. Malek Rawashedeh (ASG WAJ) and Prof. Dr. Ghada Kassab (University of Jordan), moderated by Dr. Maha Halalshe (GIZ Jordan), about the main challenges within the MENA Region to be addressed by the SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA in future.
One of the key publications within the new released SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA Library was launched right afterwards: The Arabic version of the eawag Compendium of Sanitation Systems and Technologies. Accompanied by TV and media representatives as well as the Chief General of ACWUA Khaldoun Kashman, and Christoph Lüthi (eawag) presented the Compendium in Arabic to the public.
Softcopies of the latest version in Arabic can be found here – as well as the “original” English Version here .

Dear SuSanA community,
we are excited to announce the establishment of a new Regional Chapter for the Middle East and North Africa, called 'Regional Chapter MENA'.
The idea of a chapter dedicated to the MENA region was born in times of severe water scarcity, ongoing conflicts and devastating humanitarian crises in this region of the world. In order to enhance regional capacity to implement sustainable sanitation and water management, the Regional Chapter aims to gather resources relevant and adapted to the MENA context and make them accessible for the Arabic speaking communities, NGOs, refugee camp managers and other key stakeholders affected by the recent crises.
The SuSanA Regional Chapter MENA will be embedded in the SuSanA Portal with:
- SuSanA Publications and Library (English/Arabic)
- “Thematic Discussion Series” / Discussion Forum (English/Arabic)
- Partner Profiles
- Projects
- Training Materials and Events
To create an interactive and informative chapter, cewas Middle East, GIZ and other partners are now calling for contributions to one or more of the different functionalities of the chapter, incl. (Arabic) publications, training materials, topics for discussion forums, projects and initiatives and member requests.
