Hello,
For those of you who made it to the WEDC conference it was great to meet you and connect. As always it was an intense few days of discussion, learning and dancing - so thank you all.
For those that couldn't I am attaching a summary from the workshop that Oxfam help on Market Based Programming for emergencies. It was a busy day with lots of learning and discussion for participants. The majority of the material was made up from an OFDA funded programme that is coming to an end so there will be further materials being produced and shared as a result.
If you are interested to find out more than please contact me.
Regards
Esther

Are you coming to the WEDC Conference? Are you interested to learn more about Market Based Programming to support Sustainable WASH interventions?
Hello,
Are coming to the WEDC conference this month? Do you have an interest in Market based programming for WASH, especially in emergencies? If you do then come and join me at the Oxfam workshop on the 27th of July!
During the workshop, you will learn how market based programming can be applied to strengthen the delivery of WASH programmes in areas prone to disaster or conflict. You will learn how market based approaches are increasingly being used to provide affected communities with critical goods and services, and how working with market actors contributes towards post-disaster recovery. Market based programming can be used for disaster preparedness and contingency planning as well as by development practitioners working towards sustainable service delivery.
You will learn how a market mapping and analysis is used to support key decisions in the design of a market-based programme. You will learn about Emergency Market Mapping and Analysis (EMMA) and Pre-crisis Market Analysis (PCMA) and hear about examples where these have been applied at different times during the development-disaster cycle.
It would be great to have you there! If you have any more questions feel free to contact me.
