Introducing iDE: A new partner organisation of SuSanA
We would like to welcome the iDE from the United States as a new SuSanA partner organisation!
The following text is taken directly from their application form and was written by the partner organisation themselves.
Description:
iDE is an international family of non-profit organizations with the mission of creating income and livelihood opportunities for the rural poor. We take a market-based approach to international development, working to develop markets for agriculture and WASH products and services.
Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
iDE is currently implementing Sanitation Marketing programs in 6 countries and has experience providing consulting services on SanMark in an additional 4 countries. In Cambodia alone, our efforts have already resulted in the sale of over 50,000 latrines through the local private sector.
Expectations in the Partnership:
iDE expects partnerships to be mutually beneficial. We are pleased to share our knowledge, opinions, and expertise with partners in an effort to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all WASH projects. In return, we expect to learn from the knowledge and expertise of our partners.
Contribution to SuSanA:
iDE is an industry leader in the implementation of Sanitation Marketing. In addition, we are exploring innovative financing models, the sale of bundled WASH products, development of WASH social enterprises, new WASH technologies, and Human-Centered Design. The learnings we gather through these efforts will b3e shared with the SuSanA community.
Blake McKinlay is the SuSanA contact person for iDE.
