Re: Introducing African Population and Health Research Center from Kenya: A new partner organization of SuSanA
Welcome to APHRC as a new SuSanA partner!
I think it would be nice if each new SuSanA partner also highlighted at least one of their sanitation projects by adding it to SuSanA's project database.
APHRC has already done so as you can see here on their partner profile page (scroll down to the area about projects):
www.susana.org/en/community/partners/list/details/1631
Here is the direct link to their project:
www.susana.org/en/knowledge-hub/projects/database/details/420
It is called: "Policy analysis and research support in fecal waste management (FWM) in urban East Africa"
And its purpose is: "To understand how to bridge the gaps between theory and practice in sanitation service delivery in rapidly urbanizing areas in East African countries"
It's been discussed here on our Discussion Forum: forum.susana.org/forum/categories/142-go...t-fwm-in-east-africa
Regards,
Elisabeth

Introducing African Population and Health Research Center from Kenya: A new partner organization of SuSanA
We would like to welcome African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC)
from Kenya as a new SuSanA partner organisation!
The following text is taken from their application form and was written by the partner organisation themselves.
Description and Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a leading Africa-based, African-led, international research institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. APHRC engages in multidisciplinary, evidence-based policy research. Our researchers address important issues and challenges facing Africa in areas such as education, health, population, aging, urbanization and well-being. We engage with policy makers in the region to disseminate our research findings to influence policy decisions and improve the quality of life in Africa. APHRC is conducting a dual inquiry into policy and practice along the sanitation value chain in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. This project seeks to strengthen the implementation and resourcing of sanitation policies at the national and sub-national level in East Africa.
