Re: Introducing Whave Solutions from Uganda: their project

SuSanA members interested in projects in Uganda should not overlook Whave's current 5-year-project in five districts of Uganda (Nakaseke, Kamuli, Kumi, Kotido and Kaabong). The work is closely linked to SDGs 6.1 and 6.2 and aims to provide Sustained Reliability and Hygiene as results.

In the remaining three years of the project, it is expected to tackle three major transitional issues:

i) Improvement of the technical quality of water installations

ii) Collaborative establishment of regulatory services by local government, including establishment of local monitoring bodies

iii) Social normalisation of tariff payment through radio and other media in order to bring water users and politicians at all levels to a common understanding

We are eager about the ongoing process of the ambitous plan and how this might have an effect on furthere structures in Uganda!

Kind regards,
Pelumi on behalf of the SuSanA Secretariat

Introducing Whave Solutions from Uganda: A new partner organisation of SuSanA

We would like to welcome Whave Solutions from Uganda as a new SuSanA partner organisation!

The following text is taken from their application form and was written by the partner organisation themselves.

Description and Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
Whave Solutions is a non-profit social enterprise based in Uganda. Our Safe Water Security programme alleviates rural poverty and water-borne disease through reliable provision of clean water, promotion of good hygiene practices, and improvement of sanitation conditions. High quality WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) service delivery is achieved and maintained through the establishment of an innovative public-private partnership (PPP) structure, designed collaboratively with central and local government partners and local community committees.
