Re: A Statement from Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health, Government of Uganda - Call for increased international investment in sanitation and hygiene
Dear SuSanA colleagues,
On 4 May, the Steering Committee of the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) took a landmark decision by approving WSSCC’s new 2021-2025 strategy. This decision paves the way for WSSCC to evolve into the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund, a scalable and global Fund to effectively support the world’s poorest and most left behind in achieving the sanitation and hygiene related Sustainable Development Goal.
In response, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health for Uganda, has issued a statement in support of what she describes as WSSCC's "brave and bold step to evolve into the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund."
"Given its long-established relationships with governments and partners, the organization is well placed to undertake this service on behalf of governments and the wider sector."
