Re: Update on WG5: Invitation to contribute to SuSanA WG5 by joining the task-group
Is this the constitution of a new form of WG5 or a subgroup? If so, I want to be involved. I am active in IFOAM Organics International (World Organic Agriculture). This is about a political job at the interface between (organic) agriculture, organic waste and sanitation.
Warm regards,
Gerhard

Dear members of WG5,
Thank you once again to all those who responded to our invitation for greater engagement and involvement in the work of WG5. We received 39 responses in total as you can see from the summary in the attached Excel file. After discussing how to go forward with the Secretariat, we decided to invite all those that responded and who are still interested in contributing to a meeting where we can together forge the way forward. Apart from “meet-and-greet”, the aim of the meeting will be to discuss what specific topics members are interested in collaborating on and the best format of dividing tasks that match and complement what each member is already working on, including geographical and language considerations.
For those that responded to the earlier call, please fill in the Doodle below to decide on a meeting date and time that suits most people and refer to the draft agenda below. The meeting will be conducted online using Adobe Connect and the link will be sent to those who respond to the Doodle.
Meeting doodle link: doodle.com/poll/p2q9s93c2pc5iw6u
Draft Agenda:
15 mins - Introduction and splitting of groups – Everyone introduces themselves with Name, organizations, location and their contributions topic. This will help us fill all the blank spaces in the excel form.
30 mins - Group topics – What’s new and who would like to work together? This is mostly to understand what everyone is been working on and where are the possible collaborations, in light of the various possible ways of contributing to the group.
15 mins – Suggestions and next steps and conclusions
We apologize for the slow turn-around as this is quite a new process and it has taken some time to figure out all the nuts and bolts. Thank you once again for your enthusiasm in contributing to the work of WG5 and SuSanA network in general.
Regards,
Gina and Daniel

Re: Invitation to contribute to SuSanA by joining the team of co-leads for Working Group 5
Dear Daniel,
Could you please provide an update on the process you are following here? You had a high number of people responding to your invitation to contribute to Working Group 5. What are your next steps now to harness that available energy? Perhaps you've already been in e-mail exchange with these people?
I am curious. If your process works then we could also try it for the other working groups.
Greetings,
Elisabeth

Re: [WG5] RE: Invitation to contribute to SuSanA by joining the team of co-leads for Working Group 5
Hi Gina, Hi Daniel,
Thank you very much for the opportunity that you give us to contribute the more to our working group 5. I am an agricultural engineer by training and have more than 7 years' work experiences in that field in many countries and continents. Currently, I am working as a Food security and agricultural development advisor for Oxfam in West Africa (my professional e mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
I can contribute to more than one point above because it's really fit with what I am currently doing and like. But since we have to choose one, I will choose: Publications: curate up-to-date lists of relevant publications related to WG5 topic (perhaps once or twice a year), support the identification of potential ideas and contributing authors for WG5-related publications and provide feedback on newWG5-related publications (e.g. review). But I am open, if you will like to add me another one.
Best regards,
Innocent Edang
