COP27 recordings now available!

Dear SuSanA members, partners, and friends,

We hope you enjoyed the COP27, which was happening in Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt these last two weeks (November 6 - 20). We here at SuSanA were stoked to participate in all things water happening at COP, particularly within the Water Pavillion during week 2. It gave us the opportunity to network and discuss ideas with industry insiders, decision-makers, activists, and academics the world over.

We were particularly excited to be a part of 2 important collaborative talks at COP27, Empowered Climate Resilience: Women as change-makers for water-sensitive climate action and A Call to Action for Climate Resilient and Low Carbon Sanitation. If you missed them in person, never fear! The YouTube recordings are now available to watch, over and over again (if that's your jam).

A little introduction to get you acquainted ...

Empowered Climate Resilience: Women as change-makers for water-sensitive climate action (November 16th) was an exploration of how women engaging in resilience strategies, adaptation as well as mitigation activities across sectors provides broader benefits to communities. It reflected the insights gained from the practice and policy of water resilience and draws a diverse picture of female engagement and gender equality. By providing concrete examples and lessons learnt from Latin America, Africa and Asia and from different sectors, we discussed the merits of and need for including women more actively in water-related climate adaptation and mitigation to make policies and activities more effective and enable true resilience. It aims at centering gender equality and enhancing engagement on the application of an intersectional gender lens in water-related climate adaptation and mitigation policies and activities to enable inclusive resilience.

Sound like something that's up your alley? You can watch it here:

A Call to Action for Climate Resilient and Low Carbon Sanitation (November 17th) showcased the status of the sanitation sector and its challenges in the face of climate change. It highlighted countries cases of innovative work to future proof the sector. The session then concluded with a global Call to Action on Climate resilient sanitation.

Best regards,
Megan

Thanks for efforts put in for recording the proceedings and presentations Etc.

We need to take forward our main tasks, it is evident that WASH and Sanitation needs a lot of hand- holding even now.
A lot remains to be done to have safe, secure and hygienic Sanitation in all parts of the world.

We have been so-far lucky that nothing serious and untoward has occurred,  even Corons pandemic was fully existent.

Let us strive to work togather to make right things happen.
