as announced on Social Media and in the newsletter that was sent out yesterday, we have opened the registration for the SuSanA Meeting! You can register here  and find more information on the meeting here on the meeting page. 

Also, as written in the newsletter, the SuSanA Meetings are traditionally a place to exchange, network and connect with others. Due to the online format, having such informal side-talks is much more challenging. Therefore we decided to use an online tool called wonder.me which neither require any downloads nor installing a software on your device.
We created a room, which will be open throughout the entire SuSanA week and be used as a place to gather before and after the sessions.
We will send out the link to enter the room to all who register to the SuSanA Meeting next week with the session reminder emails. You can find a three minute introduction on what you need to know for wonder.me  here on YouTube  - make sure to watch this if you want to join. Please be aware that joining is only possible from a laptop or computer, but not from a mobile phone.

Dear all

This is a save to the date for our annual Working Group 1 (Capacity Development) meeting and the launch of ‘Papers to Practice’ (P2P) on Tuesday, 17th of August 1:00 to 2:30 CEST (online). 

This year, we will be hosting two slightly shorter sessions. Similar to previous years, we will start by coming together as WG 1 (45 minutes) to:

• Share the Final WG1 Factsheet
• Provide updates on the latest products/tools 
• Share changes to capacity development activities in the face of COVID-19 and discuss what can we maintain moving forward

The second session (30 minutes), Laura Kohler from CAWST and Me (Dorothee Spuhler) from Eawag will present a new capacity development project that we have been piloting and which is called ‘Papers to Practice’, a podcast to unpack relevant sanitation publications to bridge the gap between research and practice in a way that is accessible to busy professionals. 

For the live session during the 31st SuSanA Meeting, we are looking for 1-2 sanitation-related publications to be unpacked during the 30 minute session. The interview format will mirror the format used in the actual podcast. We will ask the authors directly who should know about the publication or research and what are the key points so that professionals and practitioners working in sanitation can put the papers to practice! 

While we only have time for 1 to 2 publications for the live session, we will be recording and sharing episodes monthly. We will share more about the process and how to get involved during the session. 
If you have a paper or publication that you judge to be highly relevant but that is either complex or has low visibility, please share it with us either through the forum or via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) in order that we can include it in the P2P series or the meeting on 17th August.

The most recent updates include:

• The recording of the first SteppingStone Session, organised by the Indian Chapter has been uploaded on our Youtube Channel. You can now find the link on the meeting page.
• All available slots for sessions have now been filled (even though still some needs to be confirmed).
  Take a look at the meeting page to find out what the sessions of the 31st SuSanA Meeting will be about! 
• You can also download placeholders for your calendar 
• Also, you will find the links to registerfor the upcoming Stepping-Stone Sessions of the Latin American Chapter (6th of July), the African Chapter (13th of July) and the WANA Chapter (20th of July).

We have started to update our meeting page for the 31st SuSanA Meeting  where you can now find the overall structure of the meeting as well as a few more information. Take a look there from time to time to get the newest updates.

One of the updates is:
We are happy to announce the SuSanA "stepping-stone sessions", which will be organized by our SuSanA Regional chapters and take place prior to the SuSanA Meeting. These sessions will reflect on specific topics or challenges from the regions and gather the momentum and enthusiasm for the meeting in August.

They will take place on 22nd of June (India Chapter), 6th of July (Latin American Chapter), 13th of July (African Chapter) and 20th of July (WANA Chapter).
The registration form will be up soon and be posted again here in the forum as well as on the meeting page.

I would like to collaborate, but I am not sure on how is the best way. This will be my first time participating of a SiSanA meeting.

Dear SuSanA members,

We are happy to announce that the  31st SuSanA meeting is scheduled to take place from the 16th – 20th of August a week before the Stockholm World Water Week. On behalf of the Meeting Planning Committee, the Secretariat would like to invite partners and members to convene sessions during the SuSanA meeting.
Criteria for a session:

• A lead organisation coordinating the session with other members and partners
• Session duration: 60 – 90 minutes
• Theme under sustainable sanitation relevant to SuSanA members and partner
• Flexibility to organise session within the slots available and resources to organise the session

Sessions could also be interactive or in a workshop format.

Partners could either use their own online platforms or obtain support from the Secretariat to organise the session through MS Teams. Please write to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to submit your sessions, no later than 15th June 2021.
