Dear all,
I am pleased to let you know that the dates of the Kampala WASH Symposium are now confirmed. The 21st SuSanA meeting is part of the Kampala WASH symposium which is jointly organised by the SuSanA secretariat and the organisers of the WASH Sustainability Forum.



Recognising the critical need for WASH projects to engage the broader system beyond a single project, with governments at the core of that system, the focus of this year’s symposium will be “From Projects to Services: WASH Sustainability through Whole System Approaches”.

We expect that over 150 experts from governments, development partners, civil society, and academic institutions around the world will converge in Uganda for this important set of discussions.

Dear Bernard, thank you so much for your interest in the 21st SuSanA meeting. In fact, the 21st SuSanA meeting will be combined with 2016 WASH Sustainability Forum and take place end of June. Registration will open soon and I will post all information in this thread. The overall theme of the conference will focus on a whole system approach, looking beyond the conventional notion of projects to explore how WASH actors can work together within the wider complex systems to deliver sustainable services.

Dear Diane,
thank you so much for your interest in the WASH Sustainability Forum / 21st SuSanA meeting. Behind the scenes, preparations for the WASH Sustainability Forum are in full swing and the steering committee of the WASH Sustainability Forum (which the SuSanA secretariat is part of) is going to send out a save-the date invitation with more information soon.

I can already tell you that the WASH Sustainability Forum's topic is a whole system change approach to achieving universal and sustainable access.

The WASH Sustainability Forum will look beyond the conventional notion of "projects" to explore how WASH actors can and should work together within the wider complex system that deliver services and discuss how to drive whole-system change that supports the building of robust national systems.

The steering committee is going to set-up an online registration form, where speakers can apply for the topics of the WASH Sustainability Forum.

Further information are cooming soon and I will make them available on the SuSanA Discussion Forum.

Anne, is there any more information on what topics will be emphasized, or on how we can submit proposals for the program? I need to give my University some lead time for making decisions about travel funding, yet I know it's sometimes difficult to pin down details too far in advance. Thanks for any information you can share.

Dear SuSanA community,

I am happy to announce that the 21st SuSanA meeting is going to take place in Kampala, Uganda.
The SuSanA Secretariat is cooperating with the organisers of the WASH Sustainability Forum to have a joint meeting and discussions with the Ministry of Water and Environment are currently underway about suitable dates in June 2016.

We will keep you updated and hope that you will join us in Uganda!
