Re: Call for Proposals for "Country-wide Shit-Flow Diagram: Establishing National Excreta Flows in South Africa" (WRC)

Hi. This will be funded by the WRC as part of our national planning. Much of the SFD tool standardisation has been done by others in SFD Promotion Initiative and we acknowledge their efforts. While the BMGF has played a role in the funding of the SFD, I am sure they will happy to see it being taken up by others. The SFD Workshop held in Chennai, India at the FSM4 Conference was a good platform for others to see the use of the tool. The potential to estimate potential resource recovery also fits in with our strategy of beneficiation of waste.

The ToR is attached.

Dear Sudhir,

Your call for proposals looks really interesting. I had a look at the WRC website:

1 June 2017 (Thursday) - Publication of Terms of Reference (ToRs) and Call for open proposals by Special Announcement on the WRC website.

I couldn't find the terms of reference, should they already be online? Perhaps I haven't looked properly? And is this funded by WRC money or partly also by Gates Foundation grant money (just curious)?

Regards,
Elisabeth

P.S. Interesting that you also call it Excreta Flows. Do you find that better than "shit flows"? (I do)
