Re: Opportunity alert: Open application for the Humanitarian WaSH MSc. program at the German Jordanian University (GJU)

I am interested in this please, if I can get scholarship support I will be glad. I secured related Admission in Netherlands in 2019 for MSc. Sanitation but unfortunately I didn't get the scholarship and unable to fund it so I missed it.

WASH and Humanitarian study at MSc. Level is highly needed for me in my field of practice and my country. I will be immensely grateful if I get this opportunity

Opportunity alert: Open application for the Humanitarian WaSH MSc. program at the German Jordanian University (GJU)

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) is a critical priority in the region of middle east and has attracted a growing number of humanitarian actors to address the challenges of natural disasters, water scarcity and climate change. However, despite the presence of qualified local capacities, there remains a need for the development of a humanitarian mindset and experience to effectively implement and transfer more senior roles to national experts within the humanitarian sector.

To address this need, the German Jordanian University (GJU), in partnership with Action Against Hunger, Bioforce, UNICEF, the Global WaSH Cluster, and other humanitarian organizations, started a WaSH Master’s Degree program in February 2021. The program, including scholarships, was funded by USAID/BHA, UNICEF, and SUEZ and aims to build the capacities of local WaSH specialists, provide the necessary human capital to respond to humanitarian crises, and increase interest in the field amongst specialists.

This WaSH Master’s degree is a result of several years of work in the field of water, sanitation, and hygiene in a humanitarian context throughout the region. The one-and-a-half-year academic program consists of two regular semesters and one summer semester of theoretical education at GJU, a semester of practical internship with a humanitarian organization, and a final semester to complete the Master’s thesis. The HWASH MSc. program is the first of its kind in the Middle East, aiming to develop the capacities of the next
generation of HWASH professionals in the region. This program is open for both Jordanian and international candidates.

The German Jordanian University (GJU) launched a call for application for a Humanitarian WASH MSc. program (3rd cohort). The call will be open till 31/08/2023.

Limited number of scholarships are available for selected applicants.
