Re: Postgraduate Sanitation programme at Mzuzu University (Malawi)

Mzuzu University's post graduate program in sanitation is by research, but is not available online. The typical program for an MSc is 2 years. If you are not a Malawian citizen, then you will need a study visa for your time in Malawi which can be arranged.

Dear Professor Rochelleholm does your university offer Postgraduate Sanitation programme online? If so how long does it take to do the programme if one is not a Malawian citizen and is the programme funded? Your response will be appreciated.

Postgraduate Sanitation programme at Mzuzu University (Malawi)

Mzuzu University, located in northern Malawi, was established by an Act of Parliament in May 1997 and admitted its first students in January 1999. In 2009, the Mzuzu University Centre of Excellence in Water and Sanitation was established within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. The primary objective of the Centre is to improve the effectiveness of sanitation, hygiene practices, and water supply interventions serving Malawi and the surrounding countries.

The Centre participates in research, water quality and fecal sludge analysis, training, consultancies, outreach programs, and the practical application of research findings. We excel at practical research, both bringing the results and solutions back to our areas of research and publishing for global lesson sharing. Mzuzu University also has a growing PhD and Master’s in Water and Sanitation, and we aim to include these students for practical and innovative research experience in each of our Centre projects.
