As many of you will know the IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre, alongside the Ministry of Water and Energy of the Government of Ethiopia and Water and Sanitation for Africa (WSA) are organising a symposium on "Monitoring Sustainable WASH Service Delivery". The symposium will take place between 9 to 11 April 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and for further details see: www.irc.nl/page/72969

This will be a global platform for sharing innovative ideas and experiences on monitoring and also includes a specific topic on Financial Monitoring organised by myself and Catarina Fonseca. The symposium as a whole has received over 100 abstracts but very few on the monitoring of costs and finance specifically in one of our target areas we would like extra input on our sub-theme 2:

Sub-theme 2 - Financial monitoring to assess cost effectiveness of sanitation and hygiene interventions: This theme will reflect on a range of cost effectiveness studies of sanitation and hygiene interventions to assess the methodologies used in these studies and the role they can play in improving the targeting of future investments and the sustainability of interventions.


We are looking for further content input into this session in the form of a short paper or presentation on an existing case study or the development of a methodology on cost effectiveness.
