Workshop Update:

#WASH sector experts from the Secretariat, Maharashtra Urban WASH-ES Coalition at the  Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental Studies , UNICEF Maharashtra and community leaders inaugurated the workshop for #CBO groups of Swachhta Sanvardhan Sanstha Mahasangh (SSSMS) on the development of organizational #skills for effective management of #communitytoilets in #Mumbai . The  #capacitybuilding  workshop saw enthusiastic participation from the members of the federation, where the CBO members discussed their unique challenges, everyday experiences and local approaches to problem-solving in the management of community toilets.

Dr. Vaijayanta Anand, Associate Prof.  #NirmalaNiketanCollege  of Social Work addressed CBO members on effective communication and networking skills, conflict resolution and collective approach toward achieving common goals in community sanitation.

Mrs. Anjali Gokarn, CEO at  #ChetnaFoundation  conducted an engaging session on team building and management through diverse reflective exercises and interactive activities. The session added much value to the workshop.

The closing session was addressed by Dr. Jairaj Phatak, IAS (Retd.), Director General,  All India Institute of Local Self-Government  who guided the CBOs on understanding their roles and agency in the larger ecosystem of urban  #WASH .

Thank you for your interest in the CBO workshop. This particular workshop was targeted at the members of the federation of Swachhta Sanvardhan Sanstha Mahasangh (SSSMS) in Mumbai and was jointly organized by SSSMS and the Secretariat of the Maharashtra Urban WASH & Environmental Sanitation established at the Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) of All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) Mumbai.

Workshop for members of Community Based Organisations on Sanitation Management

The Secretariat of the Maharashtra Urban WASH-ES Coalition at  Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES), AIILSG, Mumbai  is glad to announce a  #capacitybuilding  workshop for members federation of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) in Mumbai- Swachhta Samvardhan Sanstha Mahasangha (SSSMS) on organizational skills for maintenance of community toilets post-construction & leadership skills for effective  #sanitation  management.

The key objectives of this workshop are to support and enable the member and office bearers of the federation of the CBOs in
  • Identifying and realizing their roles and responsibilities post the construction of community toilets
  • Developing leadership and managerial skills required for effective management of sanitation in slums through interactive and reflective exercises
