Webinar Information
Recent USAID post-project evaluations, and other studies, have shown that investments in rural water infrastructure have not resulted in sustained improvements to water services over time. The USAID Sustainable WASH Systems Learning Partnership (SWS) has been examining how a preventive maintenance approach can make these investments more sustainable.
SWS is holding a webinar on August 23 to present recent learning about preventive maintenance, and how it can help local governments, communities, and the local private sector to shift the paradigm from paying pump mechanics to fix broken pumps to paying them to keep water services running.
By testing and scaling up preventive maintenance models to help sustain rural water service delivery in Uganda and Kenya, SWS is better understanding how preventive maintenance approaches can work and be institutionalized for local contexts. Join this webinar on Thursday, August 23 at 8:30 a.m. (EDT) to hear about emerging learning in this area.
