Re: Launch of the CReW+ Academy: Enroll now for workshops on Integrated Wastewater Resources Management!
Hi Elisabeth,
thank you for your message!
The CReW* Academy is brought to you by the CReW+ project which is co-executed by the GIZ programme Sanitation for Millions, hence the funding ends when the programme ends, which will be May 2022.
As of now, we do not cooperate with Universities, however this is the first "block" aka pilot phase - let's see how we proceed and in which partnerships.
Certificates are planned for the second block as well. So far, due to the global pandemic and travel restrictions, all courses are provided as online webinars.
I hope this answers your questions. Best regards,
Alice

Re: Launch of the CReW+ Academy: Enroll now for workshops on Integrated Wastewater Resources Management!
Hi Alice,
This looks very interesting and big! Thanks for sharing.
I am just wondering: how many years of funding are there for the CReW+ Academy? Are any universities involved as well? On your website you mention courses but so far I only see webinars. Will there be actual courses in future?
And I found the recording for one of the webinars but will the presentation files also be made available for self-paced learning? Can participants receive a certificate of participation or completion for the courses in the end? I think that would be important for many people.
Regards,
Elisabeth

CReW+ Academy: Have you enrolled yet? The Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project “CReW+” – An Integrated Approach to Water and Wastewater Management Using Innovative Solutions and Promoting Financing Mechanisms in the
Wider Caribbean Region, is launching its virtual capacity development programme today: The CReW+ Academy!
The CReW+ Academy is brought to you by the GEF CReW+ . Capacity building measures accompany project activities to ensure beneficiaries have ownership and abilities to take
up the project outcomes and are ready for upscaling after the project ends.
GEF CReW+ is co-implemented by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the United Nations
Environment Programme (UNEP) and co-executed by Deutsche Gesellschaft
fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the programme Sanitation
for Millions, the Secretariat of the Cartagena Convention and the Organization
of American States (OAS).
The project is working on integrated water and wastewater management solutions for access to safe sanitation, ecosystems
protection and a healthy marine environment in the Wider Caribbean Region,
including the following countries: Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
If you want to learn how the CReW+ team, project countries and partners work to improve
the Wider Caribbean Region’s public health and preserve its rich biodiversity, register
now for the CReW+ Academy webinar series on: https://academy.gefcrew.org
You will not just listen and learn from a variety of local and regional experts – you will have the opportunity to
actively engage with fellow Academy participants, test your knowledge in
quizzes and share your thoughts during panel discussions.
Get involved when we exchange views on sustainable sanitation technologies in indigenous communities, gender
dimensions of innovative finance, climate change adaptation potentials of
wetlands and much more.
To keep up our thematic diversity we invite participants to give feedback and suggest additional
topics, speakers and moderators via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
