The PEAK course brings together the cutting-edge knowledge Sandec has gained from its more than 40 years of research in solid waste, water and sanitation.

Eawag PEAK course on "Planning and Design of Sanitation Systems and Technologies for Development"

Dear all,

In order to support sanitation practitioners to familiarize themselves with sanitation planning and references such as the Compendium of Sanitation Systems and Technologies, CLUES, Sanitation21 and the FSM book, Eawag-Sandec proposes a two-day practice-oriented (PEAK) course in Dübendorf (Zurich, Switzerland) on 30 June - 1st July 2016.

The course provides an overview of the various sanitation systems and technologies, key planning principles and the necessary enabling environment for sanitation projects in low- and middle-income areas. Participants will learn how to select and design appropriate options to improve sanitation in urban and peri-urban settlements. Further issues covered are appropriate faecal sludge management options and integrated sanitation planning at city and neighbourhood level.

For more information and application click here .

Registration deadline: 23 June 2016

This course will be recorded and can be viewed time-delayed over the Internet at a fee of CHF 50.-.

Best regards and hope to see some of you there,

Philippe Reymond
