SuSanA Global Steering Committee: Open call for candidates

Dear SuSanA community,

today we are reaching out to all of you to ask you for suggestions regarding possible candidates for the upcoming election of the new SuSanA governance structure: the Global Steering Committee (GSC) which is planned to take place in Autumn this year. We started to reach out to possible candidates and are seeking your help to find further suitable candidates for the GSC.

The GSC 2022 will be composed of 7 elected regional representatives of the following voting regions (1 representative per region):
  • South Asia,
  • Latin America,
  • West Asia and North Africa (WANA),
  • Africa,
  • Europe,
  • North America,
  • South Asia, East Asia & Pacific.
If you have any suggestions for candidates for any of the regions mentioned, please let us know. Self-nominations are also allowed and even encouraged. Note that we are looking for a balanced representation of gender, age and geographic origin, as well as sectoral diversity.

The positions of the GSC are voluntary and unpaid and each GSC member is expected to commit 3 to 4 hours per month. The GSC is the principal decision-making body during its 3-years term (renewable once) and is responsible for governance and financial oversight and resource mobilisation of SuSanA. In the attachment you will find the detailed ToR for GSC members. Further information on the new governance structure of SuSanA can be found in the Concept Paper SuSanA 2.0 or on our website Global Steering Committee -Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) .

We are looking forward to your feedback and suggestions.

Best regards,
Daphne
