Re: Bringing Market Thinking to Humanitarian Response: UK Launch of the Minimum Economic Recover Standards 3rd Edition
Hi Elisabeth,
The MERS event was organised by SEEP - www.seepnetwork.org/minimum-economic-rec...ds-resources-174.php we were just promoting the event on their behalf. I did not attend the event so cannot tell you any more.
The Workshop last week was in reference to an Oxfam project that has generated some guidance on using market based approaches in emergencies. We are in the process of finalising the materials and will share them on SuSanA in the near future.
Regards
Esther

Re: Bringing Market Thinking to Humanitarian Response: UK Launch of the Minimum Economic Recover Standards 3rd Edition
Hi John and Esther,
I am wondering if you could share the presentations from your event in May, or post here how people could find out more about it? I mean this one: Bringing Market Thinking to Humanitarian Response: UK Launch of the Minimum Economic Recover Standards 3rd Edition
I guess a follow-up to that launch event is probably the upcoming workshop at the WEDC conference next week? (see here: forum.susana.org/wedc-conference-in-loug...-interventions#22080)
What's the best way for people to learn or contribute on this if they can't travel in person to these events? Is there any remote participation option, or recording of the event, or sharing of information afterwards?
Thanks,
Elisabeth

Re: Bringing Market Thinking to Humanitarian Response: UK Launch of the Minimum Economic Recover Standards 3rd Edition
The SEEP Network warmly invites you to a launch event for The Minimum Economic Recovery Standards (MERS) 3rd Edition.
What are the MERS Standards?
The MERS offer tools for humanitarian agencies, inter-governmental organizations, local populations and government departments to enhance the effectiveness and quality of the economic assistance offered, and thus make a significant difference in the lives of the people affected by disasters.
The MERS is a Sphere Companion, and member of the Humanitarians Standards Partnership.
Find out more here .
The launch event will take place on the 4th of May 1500-1700 at the Impact Hub, Westminster. During the event Oxfam (amongst others) will be sharing some of their experiences of implementing programmes that support economic recovery in emergencies.
If you have any questions feel free to message me.
Esther
