2. trail – more successful = 6.4 l/s flow within 100 mm diameter pipe (250 L in 39 s),
because of „Floating valve“ have now
- shorter arm
- smaller floater
- counter weighted (just by a piece of scrap metal)
It needs now a nicer finishing for the counter weight.
A flexible hoses instead of a bellows might do it too...

First unsuccessful trail of floating-valve for "automated" distribution to a larger vertical CW:
Learning by doing:
1. in my educated guessing it needs a smaller DN160 mm floater and
2. to add a counter weight to keep the float JUST floating.
3. Maybe a shorter floater arm too...
This trail-report will be continued until it will function, maybe never ...
Just to encourage many of you to get hand-on by your self, to do trails on your own. Nobody is perfect from the beginning .
Good Luck

Schwimmerventil (float valve) for larger pre-treated sewage volumes:
just a simple Photoshop-"job" = just use from the shelf some simple pipe fittings, stainless steel hose clamps, one robust bellows to create your own float valve

Detlef

Hallo Florian,
The siphon from www.aquasaf.fr/en/#/produits (France) works with raw water too: I am not sure they have as well siphons for very small scale raw water distributions.
Small tank with pre-installed siphon for raw waste water: tanks with a volume of 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 L
Maybe will work for me too, from 15 - 50 p.e.
see as well animation on epurnatu.o2switch.net/en/our-technical-solutions/our-process

Hallo Florian,
I regret, it will come sooner them later to blockages within the little storage tank by settled particles and "objects". In front it needs a good settling and in my guessing a " Party-Filter " too, to keep long lasting functionality.
All the Best

Hello Detlef,
thanks, that looks interesting. You say that is for "pre-treated waste water", which is, I assume, solids free wastewater. Does this also work for raw unsettled wastewater?
Regards,
Florian

Moderator's note: CW = constructed wetland
Dear Colleagues,
See attached photos about a recently very well tested lightweight and compact device to deliver pre-treated waste water under pressure to CW, using just a land level differences of about 0,7 m. It works according to the siphoning principle: Liquid needs only to be primed once, therefore especially handy for complete emptying of the water storage.
The little bucket functioning as a primer and self opening valve for this siphon, to allow storage of an exact volume of water and delivery to CW within intervals. See German manufacturer Mr. Weisheit of this simple siphon-valve "VSS-50" made from PVC: weisheit-kunststoffverarbeitung.de/index.php?kippheber
developed years ago by former "Ingenieurbüro für Abwassertechnik" of Dipl.-Ing. Herbert Reppert.
I used experiences made with other "stop and go" systems made from concrete, pipes, rubber and plastic to deliver water in intervals to CW and others without external power needs. I tried (ongoing) developing a more compact + light weight storage-delivery system made out of PE and partly PVC, with the purpose it can be installed by only one person without crane or without special civil engineering know-how.
Feel free to "Copy & Paste" this simple device. My next Interval-Storage device will have the outlet in front of little bucket to avoid redirection of water outflow.
Any other "OPEN SOURCE- Open design " ideas to keep it more simple, small and lightweight? ( K.I.S.S. )

Detlef SCHWAGER
