MRR talk Open Hour with Malesi Shivaji (Kewasnet) and Virginia Roaf (SWA)

Dear colleagues,   Many of you already use the human rights to water and sanitation in your work. Many others would like to do so (more). And all of us have questions, important experiences or face challenges. Wherever we work, we can learn from each other by asking questions and sharing our experiences.  Join “Make Rights Real talk: Open hour” Thursday, 14 December, at 9am CET (11am EAT / 1:30pm IST) to share, discuss and learn with and from each other.
Register here:  ap.lc/CkscQ    Waiting for you will be two experts on working with the human rights to water and sanitation:
  • Malesi Shivaji is the CEO of KEWASNET, the Kenyan network of WASH sector civil society organisations. As an advocate and civil society leader, he has seen first-hand how civil society organisations have changed to get ready for human rights work.
  • Virginia Roaf works as a senior advisor on human rights, finance and governance with the global multi-stakeholder partnership Sanitation and Water for All (SWA). She has been working with different partners to understand and implement the human rights to water and sanitation since 2002. Virginia is also currently studying for a PhD at the University of Leeds, focussing on local authorities and political decision-making in delivering sanitation in informal settlements.
The “MRR talk: Open hour” is an online talk to discuss anything related to working with the human rights to water and sanitation at the local level. No specific agenda is in place – you have the freedom to shape it! Simply join at any time and listen in, ask a question or share an experience.   What is Make Rights Real?  Make Rights Real is an initiative dedicated to advancing the use of human rights in practice in the WASH sector at local level. They want to show how the human rights to water and sanitation can be used at local level, so that government institutions take more and better action to realise services for all. Find out more about the initiative and its MRR talk open hours here:  www.human-rights-to-water-and-sanitation.org    We hope to hear you on 14 December!   Best wishes,  Laura
