Dear Mintje

Basing on the names used in the report, perhaps on the list Linda Lilian Semana would suffice.

Thanks

Dear Mintje

Greetings,

This is a clarification on the list. Kindly note i preffer using the names Linda Lilian instead of Linda Semana. The organisation is SIMAVI and the location is Uganda.

Thanks for the report,

Re: Exploring how to address on-going taboos and silence around MHM for girls in school

Dear Ms. Mintje,

The report has been nicely laid out, with good clarity, filled with very useful information, and with rational sub-headings.

The report, however, should have given photographs of Dr. Katrin Dauenhauer, Mintje Büürma, Jan Schlenk, on the last page.

Kind regards,

Re: Exploring how to address on-going taboos and silence around MHM for girls in school

Dear discussion participants,

We are happy to announce that the synthesis report of our discussion on MHM in Schools is close to being published on SuSanA. Thank you again for your valuable inputs and the vivid discussion.

As you may know, we usually include a list of contributors, including information on their affiliation and country, at the end of the summaries of our thematic discussions.

As we are missing some of that information, we wanted to give you a chance to complete or correct your information.
Therefore, we kindly ask you to contact me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to provide the missing details.
We are happy to add this information to the report before publishing.

All requests for changes have to be provided by Sunday, August 13, 6 pm CST.

Please take a look at the following list:

Dear Mr. Daniel,

On this link: www.helvetas.org/news_blog/publication/water___sanitation.cfm
you will find Helvetas Behavior Change Manual. This is a good 35pp document, which in addition, gives the basics of behaviour change.

I trust, you will find the publication interesting.

Re: Exploring how to address on-going taboos and silence around MHM for girls in school

Dear Daniel,

A recent (Jan 2017) publication by UN Women and WSSCC titled Menstrual hygiene management: the experience of nomadic and sedentary populations in Niger, available at wsscc.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Men...lations-in-Niger.pdf, says:

If better informed, women and girls can fully participate in society and the economy and lead active lives in school, work and leisure. This means that MHM must be clearly articulated in public policies and national strategies with associated budgets and monitoring systems. The capacity to implement such policies is as essential as the services that women and girls can use with total confidence.

This shows that it is the advocacy that is required, if menstrual hygiene management is to be made effective. The advocacy has to be effective, as half-baked advocacy that does not directly target the population, which is intended to be targetted, will not be effective, and will only be a waste of time and money.

We as well mobilize the religious organizations youths as agents of social transformation against harmful practices, restrictions and taboos surrounding menstruation and menstrual hygiene management
