Re: Selection between piped sanitation and non-sewered sanitation

Yep, that's an important questions! Luckily, there are all sorts of guidance documents available for this. See here in the section on "cities sanitation planning toolkits and guidance publications":
forum.susana.org/278-cities-sanitation-p...uidance-publications

also see here under "FSM planning tools, toolboxes and guidelines"
forum.susana.org/277-fsm-planning-tools-...boxes-and-guidelines

The main criteria in the decision making process are space available, population density, how much it can cost, availabilty of water and electricity, access ways, topography, soil type, funding availability and so forth.

Why did you ask?

Hey all

How can a utility manager select between piped sanitation and non-sewered sanitation, that is decision making process, tools etc?
