Thank you for sharing the update and links to your reports.

Sharing below the ten takeaways from the summary report to initiate discussion and also bring more attention to the subject.
  1. Plenty of conditions enable and inspire.. and they all matter
  2. Resources and salary are basic requirements
  3. Improve our working environment
  4. Knowledge is key – for duty bearers, as well as citizens
  5. A clear role for citizen engagement
  6. Citizens have responsibilities
  7. …. and duty-bearers have expectations
  8. Duty bearers highlighted incentives over sanctions
  9. The role of NGOs is to empower stakeholders and facilitate processes
  10. There is a vast range of approaches available to strengthen (all of) these conditions
 I really like the framework your report uses, think it very well captures the individual, social and institutional factors which influence duty-bearer's work and decisions.

Dear colleagues,

About one year ago, I contacted you for support by filling in an online questionnaire. This was for a research on conditions and factors that influence the integrity of teachers or health workers.
 
After field work in Kenya and Nepal, KII and online questionnaires for duty-bearers and experts, the research was completed some months ago and all research products are available on the webpage of Integrity Action here . This has been an insightful and exiting process, during which we learned a lot and met great people. 
 
We would like to thank you once more for your support (many of you took the time to fill the survey!). And of course, please feel free to share more broadly in your network.

Would you be able to share the list of survey questions here in the forum? I.e. I am curious to see them but currently can't see the list unless I participate in the survey (which I don't think I am qualified to do).

In reference to the message below: Let me clarify why the  survey  on integrity of teachers and health workers is relevant to sustainable sanitation and to the WG7 activities.

In institutions such as schools and health care facilities, access to WASH facilities is of course crucial, and is key for provision of basic health services and education. However, sometimes, teachers and health workers are limited to do their work well and with integrity by other factors. As WASH experts, being aware of these factors can help us better support schools and teachers, with often little effort. This could be, for example, complementing our WASH project with social accountability tools, organising a basic training of board of management, discussing how to engage parents at the schools, etc. This is what we are trying to map out in this research.

Please support us and share your experience with filling in this survey . Your participation will be acknowledged in the final report of this global research.

Survey on integrity of teachers and health workers

Dear colleagues,
I need your support.

Integrity Action has commissioned a research on "What enable and inspire teachers and health workers to act with integrity?"
As part of this research, we aim to collect insights from project teams that have experience working with schools and health facilities, as well as education and health experts. For that, we developed the following mini-survey   It would be great if you could spare 5 min and share your experience. Please feel free to share this survey in your network. In the final report, we aim to acknowledge the contribution of networks and individuals that have supported us.

A bit of background:
The focus of the mini-survey is to identify conditions that needs to be in place to enable and inspire these teachers and health care workers "to act with integrity", as well as good practices/innovative ideas that can be replicated. With "acting with integrity", we mean going beyond teaching students or treating patients, but also ensuring that teachers and health workers:
  • Respond to the expectations of their students-parents/patients (responsiveness); 
  • Serve all students/patients according to their specific needs (equity);
  • Share information on decisions and actions to the community they serve (transparency),
  • Engage the community when appropriate (participation).
