Re: WASH in School

Dear Arno,

Thank you very much for the direction. I will link up with the team and learn from their expertise.

South Sudan has been entangled in wars and institutional facilities are in tumble-down and it is a major concern to partners on the ground. Our organization is working in an environment where majority of the populations are uneducated. Talking to women about menstrual hygiene or hygiene in general, is very difficult sometimes. Our organization ( Community Hands for Development) is trying with limited resources it has but the needs are sky rocking. The challenges is that, many institutions in the areas we operate do not have access to water supply and this have made it very difficult to promote good because water and sanitation must go together.

I hope Elisabeth, Claudia Wendland and Belinda Abraham can help with their expertise

Thanks for the request. I suggest you work through the SuSanA Working Group on schools (WG 7) www.susana.org/en/working-groups/community-rural-and-schools which is headed up by Claudia Wendland and Belinda Abraham, two senior experts. Through the WG you can get suggestions regarding partners and even funding sources.

Here as well is head moderator Elisabeth von Muench's curated list of references and links on the topic:
forum.susana.org/component/kunena/27-sch...ene-in-schools#17134

And here is the fact sheet for the Working Group www.susana.org/en/knowledge-hub/resource...library/details/1188

If you haven't joined the Working Group you can do so by modifying your user profile.
