Re: Simplified Training Programmes For Schools.

We could not blame some of the school's administrators if they are at times looking past the aspect of maintaing things to their optimum level because they cannot afford it, though it is one thing to impose rules on it rather than completely putting it on disregard. There are some places where there is not much attention given to hygiene and sanitation but we just can't do anything about it.

Also relevant:
www.unicef.org/wash/schools/

There is a pretty good and new book from them about school WASH infrastructure also... probably downloadable as a PDF from that site.

Re: Simplified Training Programmes For Schools.

Dear Nazir,
I am sure there is plenty of awareness material out there for WASH in school.

Please check on the www.washinschools.info/ for more info. I can also recommend to check the teachers manual from FIT for School which deals with handwashing, tooth brushing and deworming www.fitforschool.ph/resources/info-mater...mentary-schools.html

Moreover you will find information in the SuSanA school factsheet of WG7. Recently a South African colleague Trevor Mulaudzi has also posted on school sanitation on this forum, please search.

Cheers

Simplified Training Programmes For Schools.

Hi Everyone.

My visits to many schools in rural South Africa has lead me to believe that safe sanitation practises is taken for granted.

I am trying to find simplified education material as to create awareness within communities and allow them to understand and implement best practises.

I humbly request your assistance.

Thank You.

Nazir.
