Global Handwashing Partnership's World Water Day 2018 Social Media Toolkit
Celebrated annually on March 22nd,
World Water Day
is an opportunity to promote and learn about water-related issues, and to inspire and rally others to solve the global water crisis. This year, World Water Day explores how nature can overcome water challenges, including floods, drought, and water pollution.
Handwashing with soap is critical for preventing the spread of disease and has enormous potential to reduce the health impact of disasters and water insecurity. Understanding the benefits of proper hygiene compliance can play a critical role to overcome challenges related to water pollution and to help prevent water waste.
The Global Handwashing Partnership (GHP) has developed a social media toolkit for this year’s World Water Day campaign. This toolkit promotes the importance of handwashing in emergency settings and highlights ways to conserve water when washing hands.
This toolkit offers messages around approaches for constructing low-cost handwashing devices, encouraging healthy hygiene habits, saving water while handwashing, and promoting handwashing in the context of global water crises.
Download the GHP’s World Water Day 2018 Social Media Toolkit messages and infographics, which you can adapt for your audience. We invite you to share these messages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms, to remind your followers about the importance of handwashing with soap.
