Hi Matthias,
I do have experience with urine diversion toilet and wetlands. It would be my pleasure to help you out in improving the system remotely since I am based out of India. We can connect over video call to exchange information and collaborate further.
Looking forward to your reply.

Dear SuSanA Researchers
Greetings to All
If you are keen on doing Dewats wwt plans, pl comment your keenness to obtain design.

Re: Seeking Expert Support to Improve an Innovative Wastewater System at School in Kenya
Thank you for sharing this detailed overview of your innovative sanitation system in Mshomoroni. The integration of urine diversion, vermifiltration, constructed wetlands, and recycled flush water is impressive, and it’s encouraging to see such sustainable, off-grid solutions being implemented at school level.Your call for technical support and research collaboration is clear and well-outlined. I hope that experts in vermifiltration, decentralised wastewater treatment, and wetland systems will take interest in contributing to the optimisation and long-term performance of this promising project. Wishing you success as you continue strengthening and refining the system.

Topic Author- I am working pro bono to build Harrison's Primary School near Mombasa, Kenya (https://harrisonsprimaryschool.com). We now have 200 students and installed sustainable sanitation with Urine Separation to a Urine Trench, a Vermifilter followed by a Wetland for feces and a Rainwater Harvesting Tank.
Seeking Expert Support to Improve an Innovative Wastewater System at School in Kenya
Dear SuSanA community,
At our primary school in Mshomoroni, Mombasa (Kenya), we operate an innovative sanitation system combining urine-diverting flush toilets, vermifiltration, a small constructed wetland and recycled flush water. The system is designed to function off-grid using only solar power and rainwater.
Implemented facilities with desciption and photos

Although the concept works in principle, it does not yet perform reliably in everyday use. We are therefore looking for an expert or researcher who is interested in:
If you have experience with vermifilters, decentralised wastewater treatment, constructed wetlands or similar systems and are interested in supporting or studying this project, we would be glad to hear from you.
Thank you and best regards,
Matthias, Harrison Primary School, Mombasa

- Reviewing the system on site or remotely
- Identifying optimisation potential in operation, maintenance or design
- Possibly conducting a study or thesis project
- Supporting us in improving long-term stability and performance
