Good luck in your project and don't hesitate to contact me if you want further details of the context we implemented it in.

Dear Mandu
I only saw your post only now but have hared from the project your are planning in Sénégal together with Eawag.
I just came back from Sénégal where we had a one week seminar with regional actors in the South (Kaolack) on Scaling up Rainwater harvesting and productive sanitation for increased food security, health and social development.
I was involved most on the sanitation parts, but my partners are all experts in the RWH field, both urban and rural: IRHA, RAIN, Aqua-Aero and have implementation experience with Caritas and Pecam and others… IRHA is more on the urban side while rain and aqua-aero are having competencies for both, agriculture as well as drinking water on community level.
More such interventions are in the pipeline, potential of RWH in Sénégal is huge and so are the needs of the potential having a combination of many different serious water availability and quality problems.
Please contact me via email and I can give you more information/contacts….

Re: Expert for Waterharvesting in Urban Context
Ok. Now I got it
I'm an architect-urbanist running a consultancy with a focus on sustainable urban solutions for the growing african metropols. Our services reach from sustainable housing solutions (naturally includes water and sanitation solutions) to sustainable urban development and transportation systems.
That can be for example as for the project in Senegal to develop solutions to upgrade informal settlements witout having to displace the inhabitants. Improving the urban, social and economic structures of this neighborhoods and introducing basic infrastructures. The field of actions are mainly in Senegal, Angola and Mozambique.
That a short introduction of myself
Kind Regards
Mandu

Re: Expert for Waterharvesting in Urban Context
Dear Detlef
I didnt realy understand your question
But probably thats because I'm completely new in this forum
But thank you again for your links.
What I'm looking for are solutions or experts whith experience for waterharvesting in public space in densely populated areas as urban gardening / urban greening solutions. The focus is to try to use a maximum of the water locally and to have more retention and storage in order to reduce the amount of flooding water needed to be pumped away.
The idea of harvesting water from the roofs could be a very good addition from the individuals to reduce the amount of flood water.
Who would you recomend me to contact from the Lanka Rain Water Harvesting Forum?
Kind Regards
Mandu

Good Luck with your undertaking.
Detlef
I just remembered in their office there were nice functional urban and rural models, where you could pour water over it.
The urban model looked a bit like this:
and the rural like this
