Dear Elisabeth,
Glad to know that you looked at the article, and that I'll be able to watch presentations and sanitation videos. I'm afraid, the internet connection is somewhat slow.
What is taking Jasmin so long to get the Sacosan presentations. Perhaps, she can send reminders to the organizers.
Regards,
F H Mughal

Hi Mughal,
That's exciting, so now you're able to watch Youtube movies in Pakistan again? I read the linked newspaper article - it seems that some content might still be censored but probably not the regular Youtube videos about toilets and presentations at sanitation conferences! So now you'll be able to watch all that (hopefully your internet connection is fast enough).
About the Sacosan presentations, Jasmin has responded to you here:
forum.susana.org/forum/categories/156-co...nuary-feedback#16646
I wish all conference organizers would from the start plan to disseminate videos and presentations files aftewards, but sadly, this is not yet the case (filming incurres an additional cost, of course, but uploading the presentation files should be standard by now).
Regards,
Elisabeth

Dear Dr. Jonathan and Elisabeth,
Thanks for your help. There has been some news of opening of Youtube in Pakistan; they call it Local Youtube??!! I don't know what it means.
As seen in the link, which is the news appearing in Dawn, today (19 Jan) (www.dawn.com/news/1233960/youtube-returns-to-pakistan), there are some ifs and buts.
(Elisabeth: Can you give your comments on the news? Is is finally open, or there are some restrictions?).
Jonathan: The ODI presentations are quite interesting. Will it be possible for you to get complete presentations and papers of the 3-day Sacosan 6 event, recently concluded at Bangladesh. I also requested the secretariat of this forum for this.

Re: Urban Sanitation Markets: Scale and Resilience - proceedings from the workshop at ODI on Friday 4 December 2015
I was going to post something similar to Jonathan.
This is the converter website I've used in the past:
www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001002.htm
(you can find a bunch of them by putting into Google "How do I download or save a YouTube video to my computer?")
However, I wonder if it will work for you in Pakistan as you've said that Youtube is banned there? So presumably they've also somehow banned this kind of downloading from Youtube to an mp4 file? If not, then this would be a very neat and easy way to get around that ban.

Hi - if you want to download the videos from youtube need to use one of these
keepvid.com/
www.youtube-mp3.org/
www.videograbby.com/
www.clipconverter.cc/
You just paste the URL of the video on Youtube e.g. into the relevant box and click to convert. *
best regards, Jonathan
* Note: this particular hyperlink doesn't work - it's just been included here as an example of what a hyperlink to a Youtube video looks like, without making it show us as a thumbnail in this post (comment added by moderator)
