Have you had this problem before? :

You are trying to view a Youtube video that someone has linked to inside of a forum post. But there is either no sound, no picture or both, or not even a visible link! What could be the cause of this?

The answer is simple: In most cases it is the browser you are using which is outdated!

Possible solutions:

1. Try to update your browser by going into the browser settings and have a look where it can be updated. With all available browsers the process of updating is straight forward and does not require you to be an IT expert.
2. Or use a different browser (e.g. one user reported that changing from Firefox to Internet Explorer solved the problem for him).
3. Or view the video directly in Youtube by copying the video link into a new browser window.

This should work, unless you are accessing the internet from a country where Youtube is banned (currently the case for China and Pakistan for example).
