Re: Review of the new "Technology review of UDDTs"

Hi Nasir,

I am glad to see your interest in UDDTs. Here is a compiled list of suppliers for squatting pans for UDDTs. A similar list exists for sit-down toilets, in case your users insist on sitting.

www.gtz.de/en/dokumente/giz2011-en-appen...s-suppliers-list.pdf

If you are looking for a very economical option, please read my article on simple UDDTs in Sustainable Sanitation Practice (which also includes another article in which a colleague and I explain about fancier units we built):

Tell us more about the situation where you would like to build UDDTs.

Best wishes,
Chris

Re: Information about suppliers of urine diversion seats for dry toilets

Hi Friends

I must thank you for this valuable information. I am based in South Africa and I think Peru would be a good option to import.

Re: Information about suppliers of urine diversion seats for dry toilets

Hi all,

The SOIL team here in Haiti is working on getting a solid supplier for UD seats locally. So far we have someone who can manufacture our design for fiber-glass seats which we are using in all of our projects: emergency sanitation, public sanitation, and household toilets. We've even converted a few port-o-potties (see attached picture). However, we're always trying to keep costs as low as possible and are looking for a supplier that can mass produce these seats (ideally in Haiti). We are looking into the plastics realm but that seems to be quite expensive. If anyone has any leads, let us know! Best,

Monika

Information about suppliers of urine diversion seats for dry toilets

This is one of those frequently asked questions, so I decided to put it here. A person from the Philippines had asked Heike Hoffmann how the urine diversion toilet seats which she uses in her work can be bought.

Here is her reply and some nice photos:
+++++++++++++++

Hi Dece,
My name is Heike, our company is Rotaria del Perú. Our company is producing UD (annexed), we use it mainly for the bench style UD of our own projects and only in Peru. We are not suppliers and we don’t send it to other countries, that’s why I don’t have anyhing in English; our main interest is operation of dry sanitation projects in Peru.

We produce in fiber glass, its handmade, it could be possible produce it in plastic (PVC) as well, but ceramic would be better.

But by the way, there are UD toilets on the Philippine market, aren’t there?
Our perhaps closer to the Philippines? I can imagine that you will need toilets for squatters and you have to take into account the washer?

And hundreds more photos about Rotaria's projects in Peru are here:

You can see, I am a fan and supporer of Rotaria's work with UDDTs, they really know what they are doing! Let's hope they get many more customers in Peru.

They also follow what is going on in this forum, so please feel free to post any questions you may have for them here.

(and for a proper supplier, you can e.g. contact Wolfgang Berger in Germany: www.berger-biotechnik.com/
See also the supplisers lists which GIZ has put together and which are in the SuSanA library):
