Sustaining Sanitation and Hygiene in Madagascar: the Impact of the Pandemic

Dear colleagues,

I have just read a recent interview a Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council Field communications correspondent in Madagascar had with Dr Fano Randriamanantsoa, the Community Mobilization Specialist at the Fonds d’Appui pour l’Assainissement (FAA), WSSCC’s Global Sanitation Fund programme in the country.

A medical doctor by training, Fano Randriamanantsoa has worked in the WASH sector for over ten years. He spoke extensively with Hoby Randrianimanana about the challenges to sustainability for ODF communities in Madagascar discussing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on post-ODF activity programming.

What are the main challenges you have encountered in WASH programming during COVID-19 times?
