Dear All,
Sharing a RFP that will interest innovators looking to scale. I found descriptions of the following projects that are directly relevant to sustainable sanitation
Grand Challenges Canada is excited to hear about your Bold Ideas with Big Impact! Through our Transition to Scale (TTS) program, GCC supports promising innovations with a proven impact that have the potential to save or improve lives. Read here for more details about our current investment areas of focus, and how to share your idea to see if it’s the right fit.
In this Request for Proposals , Grand Challenges Canada seeks to support the transition to scale and sustainability of Bold Ideas with Big Impact®. We invite applications from innovators in the following areas: Maternal and Newborn Health, Digital Health, Medical Products and Technology, Community Health Worker Models, Urban Sanitation & Hygiene, and Options for safe pregnancy termination (see details above). Grand Challenges Canada makes investments ranging in size from $250,000 – $3 M CAD (in multiple investments) to catalyze the scale and sustainability of the most promising global health innovations.

- Sanitation social enterprise brings sustainable and affordable toilets to scale in Uganda
- Delivery of market-led solutions in toilet installation to address mortality and morbidity of children under five by reducing open defecation
- Transforming fecal sludge and biomass residues into charcoal briquettes, a cost-effective approach to reducing diarrheal disease in Kenya
- Scaling an affordable and ecological solution to the sanitation crisis in urban Haiti
