We invite your contributions to a special issue on WOPs (Water Operators` Partnerships), their principles, and practices, in a peer-reviewed Journal on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Development . GWOPA is collaborating with IHE Delft to develop this Special Issue that will be published in the International Water Association (IWA) Journal of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Development (JWASHDev). JWASHDev is a fully open access journal with no publication cost for authors.
 
We have just launched the Call for Papers. You can access it here . We are now in the process of identifying teams of two or three authors that will focus on specific topics or phenomena related to WOPs. Each writing team will consist of at least an academic member and a water / sanitation utility or sector professional that has experience in working in WOPs. 

If you already have a writing team and topic for the special issue, you can  submit your extended abstract through this survey  or send it directly to Klaas Schwartz ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) by 15^th September 2022. But if you do not have a writing team and would like to contribute and join a writing team, please respond to the survey by 1^st September 2022 to help us match your background experience and interest in topics with a suitable counterpart (either an academic or practitioner) for an article.

Key dates:

• Launch of the Call – 1st July
• Identification of Author Teams – 1st October
• Draft papers (for internal review) – 1st April, 2023
• Papers presented at 5th Global WOP Congress in Bonn, Germany – 23-25th May, 2023
• Draft papers for the special issue will be presented to a dedicated session at the Global WOP Congress. This can be done in person or online. The draft papers will not be published in the conference proceedings. Registration for the Conference is free. In the sessions authors contributing to the special issue will be asked to peer-review the articles of other authors contributing to the Special Issue.
• Revision of second drafts based on comments at Global WOP Congress – 1st September
• Final papers submitted for review by Journal of Water, Sanitation & Hygiene for Development – 15th September
• Publication of Special Issue (accepted papers) – 1st February, 2024
