Dear WASH in Schools Advocates,

The virtual 9^th WASH in Schools (WinS)International Learning Exchange (ILE) 2022, an event co-organised by UNICEF, GIZ, WaterAid and Save the Children, will take place from 31 August to 21 September 2022 this year. 
 
Different to previous years, the event will start on 31 August with an official opening day at 12:00nn (Bangkok time) and close with
a Culminating Event on 21 September at 12:00nn (Bangkok time). Over the course of the three weeks, in between, there will be technical sessions in the form of webinars, country-level Technical Working Group Meetings and other ways to exchange and engage.

The 9^th WinS ILE will have a thematic focus on the following 5 topics:  

1.    Moving forward: Lessons from WinS as a COVID Response for Safe School Reopening  
2.   Climate resilient WinS  
3.   Sustainable financing for WinS  
4.   Digital transformation in the implications for WinS  
5.   Capacity building for WinS 

The WinS ILE will provide a platform to promote learning and sharing of expertise across the wider region to accelerate progress. In addition to the opening, closing and technical webinars, the WinS ILE will include virtual side events organised and hosted by experienced stakeholders actively engaged in WASH in Schools. 

Governments, organisations, and stakeholders are invited to express their interest in organizing side events during the WinS ILE by using the online submission form, which may be accessed here .

The deadline for submitting applications for side events is on 3 August 2022. Slots may be filled on a rolling basis and the application process will close if all slots are taken prior to the advertised closing date.
