NRW reduction competition - Dreampipe II
We would like to call your attention to the new Dreampipe II prize competition focusing on efforts to reduce non-revenue-water (NRW) in developing countries.
Dreampipe II has a total prize purse of about GBP 1,000,000.
The competition should appeal to water utilities, consultants, entrepreneurs, financiers, and NGOs.
Dreampipe II, funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), consists of three Phases:
—Phase 1 (up to ten prizes of £30,000 each) requires only the preparation of a business plan.
—Phase 2 will involve implementing a demonstration project to reduce NRW in a selected water utility in a developing country.
—Phase 3 will be based on a fully structured deal for an expansion project in the same utility company.
The main objective of Dreampipe II is to find ways to bring financing from non-traditional sources (e.g. not from international financial institutions (IFIs), bilateral development agencies or governments). We know that financing is available, and the top-priority NRW-reduction interventions can pay for themselves in 3–7 years. The potential is there, but it’s not being realized. We need innovators who can help unlock the potential!
Please consider submitting an entry. Or you may know someone who is interested? We urge you to pass this information along so we can work together to combat NRW.
The deadline for registration for Phase 1 is 15 February 2017. You must submit your application by 15 March 2017.
Please see the attached flyer.
