Wastewater Treatment Plants in Rapid Mass Displacement Situations

Wastewater Treatment Plants in Rapid Mass Displacement Situations

Kerina Tull, University of Leeds, Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development, recently
(7 November 2017) has developed a very useful, concise, 15pp note on Wastewater Treatment Plants in Rapid Mass Displacement Situations. It is available at:
assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5...ement-situations.pdf

Though, new entrants in sanitation will find the note highly educative, it is equally refreshing for the senior professionals.

The note discusses technological options, including decentralised wastewater treatment systems, package plants, and fixed-bed technology. Table 1 is impressive. It gives a comparison of major wastewater treatment plants in Palestine using different treatment systems.

Section 4, which is on lessons learnt, is helpful and interesting. Section 5 gives a fantastic list of references.

This is a valuable, though short, resource on wastewater treatment plants in mass displacement areas.
