Re: From the MDGs to the SDGs: invitation to contribute to updating SuSanA WG5 factsheet - Online meeting on 23rd October
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you to all those of you who have responded indicating your interest in contributing towards updating the factsheet of SuSanA Working Group 5 factsheet in line with the SDG era.
The next step for those who would like to participate is to review the existing factsheet together, identify specific areas that need updating/modification and together develop an outline for the updated factsheet upon which we can parcel out various sections for individuals to contribute to. The aim is to have this outline by end of October and therefore we shall have an online meeting on Tuesday 23rd October via Skype for Business to undertake these next steps.
To create some convenience for colleagues across various time zones, we shall have two sessions as below. Both sessions shall have the same agenda as mentioned above. To join your preferred session, simply click the link next to it a few minutes to the start of the meeting. In case you have not used Skype for Business before, simply follow the prompts that the system will show you.
• Session 1: 09:00-10:30 CEST / 07:00-08:30 GMT (favorable for most of Europe, Africa and the far East) meet.lync.com/sei.org/daniel.ddiba/NBNS2Q4P
• Session 2: 16:00-17:30 CEST / 14:00-15:30 GMT (favorable for most of Europe, Africa and the Americas) meet.lync.com/sei.org/daniel.ddiba/0DPD7C1J
We look forward to meeting you on the 23rd and working with you to update the WG5 factsheet.
Regards,
Daniel and Gina

Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to you as members of Working Group 5 of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA).
We have initiated a process of updating the Working Group factsheets and since the factsheet of WG5 was published in 2012 (see here: www.susana.org/en/knowledge-hub/resource.../library/details/101), the time seems right to have an update now. The update process aims at:
1. assessing and possibly updating the content (if necessary),
2. defining the role of the WG in the SDG era,
3. defining actions for outreach to other relevant sectors,
4. formulating a work plan.
5. a final output of 8 pages maximum.
The goal is to have the first drafts of the updated factsheets ready by mid-February 2019, so they can be discussed at the 27th SusanA Meeting and Working Group Meetings in connection to the conferences FSM 5 and AfricaSan in Abidjan. The SuSanA secretariat and core group have generated some guidelines for the process (see below) but each working group is welcome to define and undertake the update process in any way the WG leads and co-leads see fit, so we have some flexibility. Within our group, I think we shall pretty much follow the timeline suggested in the guidance document.
Guidance document to updating SuSanA WG factsheets:

However, I would like to get feedback from those of you who would like to contribute input to the process over the next 2 to 4 months and also to indicate any specific input you are interested in contributing to particularly. For example, someone could say that they are interested in contributing to a small section in the factsheet on fertilizer certification, or on synergies with manure management industry or on peri-urban agriculture or on institutional/legal aspects of productive sanitation etc based on their expertise/experience in that area.
For those that will be interested in contributing to the process, we shall arrange a Skype meeting online to discuss the document’s outline and then we can distribute sections to various individuals and finally have some few others to compile and finalise the whole document. We could also have volunteers who will review the final draft.
I am looking forward to hearing your feedback on this process.
Reminder:
