(1) House S, Mahon T & Cavill S. Menstrual Hygiene Matters: A resource for improving menstrual hygiene around the world
This resource brings together, for the first time, accurate, straightforward, non-judgmental knowledge and practice on menstrual hygiene programming from around the world to encourage the development of comprehensive and context specific approaches to menstrual hygiene. It presents comprehensive and practical guidance on what is already being implemented in different contexts to encourage replication. The resource is divided into modules, each with its own toolkit, focusing on various aspects of menstrual hygiene. Module 1: menstrual hygiene - the basics , might especially provide a valuable inside into MHM for newcomers to the topic.

(2) Sommer M & Sahin M. Overcoming the taboo: advancing the global agenda for menstrual hygiene management for schoolgirls
Inadequate water and sanitation facilities pose a major impediment to school-going girls during menstruation, compromising their ability to maintain proper hygiene and privacy. A growing focus on menstrual hygiene management (MHM) from nongovernmental organizations, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and other international agencies now highlights the profound impact of this problem on school-aged girls and provides the basis for a much needed research, programming, and policy agenda.

(1) UNICEF/WHO. Core questions and indicators for monitoring WASH in Schools in the Sustainable Development Goals
The WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply and Sanitation (JMP) has convened a series of working groups to review questions and indicators for monitoring water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in schools. This document summarizes the resulting harmonized core indicators and questions for monitoring the WASH in schools elements in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Targets 4.a, 6.1 and 6.2.

(2) SuSanA. Making WASH in Schools More Sustainable Vol. II (Chapter 2: HOW TO deal with Menstruation Hygiene Management in SCHOOLs?)
This publication is the second volume of "Making WASH in Schools more Sustainable". Similar to Volume I, it showcases various approaches, both practical and innovative, to provide sustainable WASH solutions in schools around the world. The case stories are divided into four thematic chapters. The second chapter “how to deal with menstrual hygiene management in schools” includes 4 case studies from different countries and organizations on MHM in Schools related projects.

(3) UNICEF/Columbia University. Proceedings of the 5th Annual Virtual Conference on Menstrual Hygiene Management in Schools
The 5th Annual Virtual Conference on Menstrual Hygiene Management in Schools, co-hosted by Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and UNICEF on 25 October 2016 provided highlights of this global effort. The overarching message from the conference was to continue to build the evidence base, to focus on moving from research to action, and to demonstrate scalable models through education systems.

(4) UNICEF/Columbia University. Report from the 3rd MHM in Ten Meeting
The third annual MHM in Ten meeting, which was held on 26 October 2016, reflected on the status of five priorities, including barriers and enablers to making progress, and introduced new topics of relevance, such as the intersection of the MHM in Ten agenda with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the importance of addressing teacher sensitization and training on MHM, the intersection of sexual and reproductive health with MHM, and the role of addressing equity in order to make progress.
