Re: Resources on how CSOs learn for Impact in WASH programming
How do CSOs learn for Impact in WASH programming?
Research undertaken by the Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF), University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for the CS WASH Fund explores this question. The research investigated how CSOs involved in WASH learn and improve programming and practice to align with evidence-based approaches, and outlines the most preferred and effective communication materials, formats and mechanisms for CSO learning.

Re: Help the WASH sector better understand how it learns for improved practice
Hi Kris,
Thanks for pointing out the broken links. I was able to fix them in Janina's post - they are working again, now you can take the survey.
(they got broken because Janina tried to embed the links but she didn't set it up quite right; general note to all: there is no need to use embedded links, you can just copy the URL straight into the forum post, just as it is).
Regards,
Elisabeth

A bit off topic, but this is a good opinion piece on learning VS. "evidence"/RCT etc.:

Resources on how CSOs learn for Impact in WASH programming
Dear all,
I’m writing to invite your to share knowledge about how Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) across the world learn and draw on evidence to improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programming and practice. Here is some background about the research project that your views could help inform, and the benefits this may have for organisations’ own communications strategies and activities.
This survey is part of a research project initiated by the Civil Society Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (CS WASH) Fund, exploring how CSOs involved in WASH learn and improve WASH programming and practice to align with evidence-based approaches. It is also looking to obtain views on the types of communication materials, formats and mechanisms that are most preferred and most effective in influencing CSO learning in alignment with good practice.
By completing this survey you will be providing valuable information for the implementation of the CS WASH Fund knowledge and learning components. Research findings will also provide greater guidance to CSOs, researchers and other WASH stakeholders on how to tailor communications for greater impact – the research findings will be made available to you for free in April/May 2016.
To access the survey, please click one of the links below and complete the survey by Friday 18th March (inclusive). If the survey does not open automatically, please copy and paste the link to your Internet browser's address bar:
If you work for a Civil Society Organisation (CSO)/Non-Government Organisation that works on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), please click here:
www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSOs_learning_1
If you work for another type of organisation (government, donor, academic, think tank, consultancy) that works on, or funds WASH programs, please click here:
www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSOs_learning_2
All participants who have completed the survey by Friday 18th March (inclusive) may enter a draw to win a US$100 book voucher. The results of this research will be made freely available through a webinar and online briefing note available in April-May 2016.
Thank you for your time and insights – we look forward to providing you with the results of this important research so that it can be used in your own practice.
We would very much appreciate you promoting this invitation within your organisations - all WASH staff are encouraged to participate.
