There is also a cactus in Latin-America called "tuna" with has similar properties in regards to coagulation.

I also once mail ordered Moringa seeds out of interest to (privately) experiment with, but was unable to get them to germinate under middle European conditions (but indoor).

Edit: why not discuss this also on the www.watersanitationhygiene.org/ forums? These are generally more focussed on drinking water supply issues.

I have been studying the benefits of Moringa. I have found that the seeds from the tree can be used for water purification.
