  • Sanitation is dignity and life. Through living and working 15 years in (Mozambique) where Cholera is endemic, the importance of sanitation became evident, furthermore it is clear that sanitation is more than an infrastructure

Call for input from UN Rapporteur on Human Rights to Water and Sanitation

Dear all
It would be nice if SuSanA members could contribute to this call for input! It is indeed very important that we provide input on the situation on the ground, evidence from research etc. This to enhance the understanding of the lack of sanitation in impoverished rural areas.

Issued by: The Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation, Pedro Arrojo Agudo

Purpose: To inform the Special Rapporteur’s reports:
  • the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation of indigenous peoples:  state of affairs and lessons from ancestral cultures to be presented at the 51st session of the Human Rights Council in September 2022; and
  • the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation of people living in impoverished rural areas to the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in October 2022.
