This is an interesting area of work. If you are still looking to talk to people, I know an organisation that got a few hundred biogas linked toilets installed in a 4-5 towns in Kerala, India. Will be happy to get you in touch. 

An agri-entrepreneur whose family has been practicing organic farming for a couple of decades and using slurry from biogas both in their fields and kitchen garden in rural Marathwada region of Maharashtra, India; when suggested that they could also connect the toilet to the biogas plant, they commented and I quote

The workers will not even touch such slurry

On the contrary, I have heard farmers extensively  use untreated faecal sludge in banana plantation near Bangalore. In this context, I am curious to know more about your findings. It would be great if you could share them.

Also interested in knowing more about your PhD research in general, which cases you could pursue, what stage are you at, so on and so forth.

There are several toilet linked biogas plants in rural India. I provided drawings and helped implement a few hundred toilet linked biogas plants in the state of Gujarat, India, with the support from the WASTE, the Netherlands. Final report on the project is available in the Susana Library.

Dear SuSanA Community,

I am embarking on an interesting Ph.D. project that is investigating the social and cultural challenges that arise with the use of toilet-linked anaerobic digestion technology and its products (biogas and fertiliser).

As part of the study, I would like to identify communities, groups or individuals that are already using the toilet-linked biogas technology and ask them some questions on their experiences, opinions and what they do and do not use the biogas and fertiliser for and why.

I was wondering if anyone in this online community knows of companies/NGO/other organisations I could contact that are installing this toilet-linked biogas technology (either previously or ongoing) and might be able and willing to facilitate me in interviewing their customers. Or if you know of someone or a community that has one/some that I could contact directly.

Ideally, this would be in Nepal/ India where my project is focused. I am preparing for a visit end of May/ June this year and have loose travel plans at the moment so could visit various locations for interviews. I am also planning a longer visit for fieldwork in Oct/ November this year when I could conduct some interviews.
