WHO webinar - Using behavioural interventions to improve water, sanitation and hygiene for trachoma management

People’s behaviours play a critical role in the prevention, mitigation and elimination of many diseases. That is the case for trachoma for which water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) behaviours are thought to be particularly important. This webinar examines a series of behavioural interventions designed and tested in rural Ethiopia to try to improve hygiene-related behaviours and decrease the prevalence of trachoma.

The international panel will discuss the practical learnings from the project and how they can be applied in other settings. This webinar is one of a series based on articles published in the  WHO Bulletin’s  themed issue on behavioural sciences in health. The article in focus for this webinar is  Changing hygiene behaviours: a cluster-randomized trial, Ethiopia
