Re: Working Group 12 meets in Stockholm @ World Water Week 2019

Hi WASH-Nutrition colleagues,

Thanks for your participation (offline and online) in the SuSanA WG12 meeting during the Stockholm World Water Week. I want to share with you in brief the results of the meeting. Here we go:
  • Highlights of the session “A WASH-Nutrition Reality Check: Perspectives and a Pakistan Case” will be uploaded on the SIWI website here
  • The e-learning material developed by ACF and partners is available on google drive here
  • Comments and feedback on the Uptake Strategy (in the attachment of Jovana's post in the same thread) were collected (e.g. explain why we integrate WASH-Nutrition into the overall objective; how do partners feed into the mapping?) Jovana and Ahad (also WG12 lead) to set up a forum thread to collect feedback, including activities for the mapping
  • Factsheet is not yet finally updated; the current status of the draft can be found attached in Jovana's post in this thread. Who can lead on this process?
  • More studies by Gates Foundation (Program in Mali) and operational research by LSHTM conducted in Senegal on wasting Jovana and Jona share material, related to WASH Benefits and SHINE Trial; everyone, who comes across useful documents adds to that
  • Welthungerhilfe hosted the WASH-Nutrition training in January 2019 (conducted by German WASH Network and ACF); good uptake of e-learning modules in Welthungerhilfe teams
  • Global Handwashing Partnership: The USAID funded project “WASHPaLS” looks at neglected contamination pathways and barriers (e.g. play pens)
  • WaterAid and ACF developed case studies ( Cambodia, Ethiopia, Madagascar ) including short videos
  • Within Sanitation and Water for All (SWA), a Nutrition WG addresses WASH-Nutrition from a policy-angle (e.g. creating visibility of the nexus at international fora such as the Stockholm World Water Week, the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Global Gathering, SWA meetings etc.)

Best,
