Exploring how to address on-going taboos and silence around MHM for girls in school

Hello all,

The subject is gaining more relevance now, however many are still silent about menstruation. In some countries, menstruation is still a subject shrewd in secrecy and girls are not permitted to talk about that aspect of their life.

Taboos can be tied to poverty, some parents attach taboos to sanitary products because they can't afford to buy for their children. i.e menstrual hygiene products makes a girl infertile. which is not true

To address it, taboos must be debunked especially to young school girls. MHM workshops should be organised in schools from time to time to break the silence and train the girls menstrual hygiene and menstrual truth, boys should also be involved in menstrual discussion.

Thanks
Bolu
