Dear all, find below an announcement from cewas, the international centre for water management based in Switzerland. Best regards, Dorothee

Call for Applications for the Swiss Environment Award 2014

Each year, the Swiss Environment Foundation grants the Swiss Environment Award to individuals, companies or organisations, that contribute outstandingly to the protection and the conservation of nature and the environment.
In 2014, this prestigious award – endowed with CHF 30’000 CHF - will have a special focus on the reduction of global water consumption.

Within this framework, young people from all over Europe (especially Germany, Norway and Switzerland) are invited to develop and submit innovative ideas on how to reduce water consumption.
The best 24 applicants will get a chance to
- participate in a 1 week training camp in Switzerland (in collaboration with cewas - international centre for water management services, Water Integrity Network and Norwegian University of Life Sciences with funding of the Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission), where they will receive professional coaching from renowned experts in the water sector towards putting their idea in practice
- be nominated for the Swiss Environment Award in the category Youth-Innovations,

More information as well as application forms and eligibility requirements are available on www.umwelt-stiftung.ch/aktuelles/bewerbu...endinnovationspreis/.
Deadline for applications is February 28th 2014, midnight (CET).

We would be very grateful, if you could disseminate this information widely within your network and publicise it on your website, newsletters and mailings.
By so doing, you will support motivated and engaged youth and give them a chance to win the Swiss Environment Award 2014.

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards
